The treadmill test, also known as a cardiac stress test, determines the ability of the heart to withstand external stress in the form of exercise. It is one of the most commonly used tests in controlled clinical settings to detect ischemic heart disease and estimate prognosis after myocardial infarction. Patients' pretest likelihood of being positive is assessed. During sleep, an ECG is recorded. They have explained the gradual increase in speed and slope. Vital indicators are monitored both before and during the test. If the patient experiences chest pain or acute dyspnea, the ECG shows ST elevation, or the patient falls, the test is immediately stopped. The test is positive if the ST depression is greater than 2 mm or if there is new-onset ST depression during the recovery period.
